RFQ checklist

What to include in your first message

A useful inquiry does not need to be perfect, but it should give enough direction for the category team to respond responsibly. Mention whether you are building a private-label range, selecting ODM catalog models, replacing an existing supplier or preparing a tender. Include the target market because certifications, plug types, manuals, labels and service expectations may change by region.

For laundry or refrigeration, share capacity targets, desired energy positioning and any size limits. For dishwashers, note built-in, freestanding, drawer or countertop expectations. For water treatment, climate or air quality appliances, include filter, refrigerant, CADR, flow or installation preferences when available. Lg will then respond with questions, model options and the likely documentation path.

If your team is still comparing suppliers, describe the current problem you need to solve. It may be high carton damage, unclear certification status, slow sample revisions, inconsistent spare-part planning or difficulty adapting one appliance family for several countries. Those details help Lg avoid a generic quotation and focus the first reply on the evidence your procurement, technical and merchandising teams actually need.

Typical reply includes: category fit, MOQ bands, sample timing, compliance status, packaging questions and next meeting options.
